This section provides information regarding Extended Services.

What are Extended Services?

The Government's Plan for Extended Services in Schools is for each school singularly or in partnership with other schools and agencies to provide the Core Offer of:

  • Childcare: giving children a good start in the crucial early years, supporting working parents to the benefit of the whole family
  • Varied menu of activities: giving children a choice of opportunities to enjoy and excel at outside the classroom
  • Swift and easy access to specialist services: working in partnership to ensure the well-being of all children
  • Parenting support: helping parents engage with their children’s learning by offering support where needed
  • Community access: opening the doors of the school to the community
